I saw upwards of nine bear in five days and took my record book 8 foot squared cinnamon bear with Stockton Outfitters. My guide truly showed me the best in free chase bear hunting, and sportsmanship. We hunted hard and experienced encounter after encounter with Stockton’s calling technique. Every animal from bears to coyotes to hawks to cow elk seemed to appear from nowhere after the calling begun.

It really took me a while to fully appreciate what a trophy I have. Being totally new to bear hunting I just couldn't fathom what a monster he is, and that beautiful black fur is great. I was in the local Cabela's here in KC and my bear is bigger than all, but one of the Grizzly's they have on display!! I fully intend to enter my bear in the SCI, B&C and Montana Record Books. Myself and best friend Derrick Stork hunted with Stockton Outfitters, LLC and took full advantage of the combination elk and mule deer package. Derrick killed his very first bull and I had the opportunity to take my first mule deer. I took a heavy horned 4 x 4 as he was chasing does early in November. Stockton Outfitters delivered exactly what was promised and our guide was truly a top hand in the mountains. We have already rebooked for 2006.

My first big game hunt and my first deer kill were both in the same day on a Stockton hunt. I took a 200+ yard shot at one of two mountain mulies. The shot was good, but the deer ran off leaving no blood trail. My guide was unwilling to give up pursuit and worked four hours eventually finding my first trophy over one mile from where he had been hit. Stockton outfitters not only gained me my first trophy, but showed me the sportsmanship, mountain ethics, and dedication to the purity of hunting that will keep me hunting for years to come.

My brother and I hunted with Stockton Outfitters in late November and found the experience to be one of the finest hunts we have every taken. Due to unfavorable weather we were forced to push ourselves to the limit both physically and mentally each and every day of the hunt. Our guide knew the country and the animal habits. His knowledge resulted in successful kills for both Jeff and myself, but beyond the kills I was overcome by the challenge of each day. Stockton Outfitters provides a true hunt for real sportsmen.

I have hunted many self guided hunts in the past and opted to hunt with Stockton Outfitters, LLC for the 2005 season. My guide used a variation of techniques and we found numerous opportunities and eventually success. Though I hunted with a rifle my guide used calling to catch the elk off guard during the fianl stages of the rut. New to this experience, I was amazed.
